I would like to start this blog by saying I should really be doing homework. Really, I should. So for all of you reading this because you are avoiding having to take up any real responsibilities. . . awesome. Unless of course that responsibility involves picking up your own trash, taking care of your body to any degree what-so-ever, or even taking the time to watch an incredibly rare and wondrous beautiful lightning storm. . .if those are the life responsibilities you are avoiding then please, for the love of anything at all, quit reading this blog and do those things.
So I know I haven't posted in while. Stephanie, my love for you is deeper than this blog and I in no way meant for my absence on it to hurt you.
I actually have to blog every week for work and it occurred to me that I hadn't really posted a link to that on here, so here it is just in case you care to read through it: http://pinemap.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php
How it works I have an assignment post every week and then I have a general post. (so read the general posts if you are so interested because the assignment posts are dull).
So much has happened since I last posted that unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to cover it all. Shame on me, I know. But I'm going to do my best.
Mainly I've been going to work and working way too long. I've had some delusion that working enough overtime to account for over two full days off was a good idea. I finished my first semester of summer school (American Govt) and started upon my second (Texas Gov't). The first one was not hard but my professor failed to provide us with a syllabus of any sort which meant we didnt know when assignments would appear or be due. So of course this meant that I ended up discovering I had an exam to take at 10:30pm the night before it was due while I was working in the field in Idabel, Oklahoma. Even funnier, I didn't know it was the final exam (because no syllabus and it was just labeled "Exam 3") and so I took it without using the mandatory online computer-cam program that shows I'm not cheating. So that was fun. It's all good though, I got an A in the course and I'm moving on with my life.
Other things. So my internship is with this thing called PINEMAP, and there is one more intern working on it here. His name is Scott. Now Scott is a tall skinny fellow from Kansas who I really tried to invited out and talk to for about 4 weeks straight and he always declined. So I stopped trying. Well, needless to say we ended up going to Idabel together. . .no time together turned quickly into 12 hours in a truck. And you know what, it was great. We got along fantastically. Scott is one really cool guy. We talked about everything practically. Environmentalism, gay rights, art, school, life goals, etc. etc. Also, he actually did field work. Even more incredibly he is extremely patient with Yang. That's a whole nother' story haha. Also at work, I have finally made a friend who will make "that's what she said" jokes with me. It has been a long, hard internship without that let me tell you (cough that's what she said cough). I cannot even describe how happy it makes me to have somebody to talk to there who shares the same humor.
Last Friday I was traumatized slightly because someone froze a moth in liquid nitrogen. It was crazy and honestly made me feel like a terrible person as I watched what was supposed to be an instant freeze turn into a swirling struggling most likely terrifying couple of seconds.
More on friends: I made a new friend a while back named Jess but we haven't really talked or hung out at all since I helped her with her garden. So about 3 weeks ago I texted her and we decided to hang out. It was a much needed day off spent with a person who is wonderfully pleasant. First we took a walk around the park with her roommate's new and adorable puppy. Then we made a trip out to the 'Farm Patch' and grocery shopped together for the ingredients of her carrot juice recipe, which is carrot juice mixed with a mango, strawberries and some ginger. It was delicious and delicious.
Then we chilled in her room and drew and talked and listened to good music. The nigth was then finished with dinner at Cheddars. All in all, I felt like I got to talk about a lot of things in my head I haven't had anyone to talk to about with here. It felt good. Also as a side note one of her roommates is so cute that I literally lose my ability to act normal when she's in the room. I swear I turn bright red and instantly become aware of the fact I'm wearing nothing attractive haha. . .*cough*. .
But anyways. Laura and I have been hanging out a lot. For July 4th we went to the George Bush Library celebration thingy. They had roasted corn!!! And a hot air balloon! It far exceeded my expectations and we had a blast. Then on Friday we went to First Friday down in Bryan, got to see Tim play and ate dinner at The Village. We also looked around that Earth Art store thing and made friends with one of the owners who told us we needed to stop by more often. It was fun but died down earlier than usual and so we decided to go grab some Spoons. It was a brilliant plan indeed.
Last weekend I went to Houston again and got to see my dad's new house for the first time and give my new little sister her belated birthday gift (a pink bunny, a bag, and a seashell that has the ocean inside). It was pleasant enough, but when I went to say hi to Oreo, my dad's dog who I am dearly attached to, she was almost skin-and-bone. Apparently her medication doesn't appear to be working any more and my dad thinks he's going to put her down soon. This makes me sad. :[
I also managed to bring up the topic of gay rights with my mom. . .it didn't go well. She was driving and I'll just say we almost got into 3 wrecks in a 5 min time span because she was so stressed out by the conversation. I still need to address the topic directly. I think it's really causing so many problems because I'm not talking to her about it and so it's scaring her. . . because it's not like she doesn't know.
Note: I miss Nick.
I finally got to meet up with my NSLS executive peeps. It was fun and we talked about a lot of awesome personal things that have made me feel way more comfortable around them. We're going on a retreat for a day to go tubing down the Guadalupe river. I can't wait.
This past weekend Frazier came up to College station to see me. I haven't really touched on this topic since I told ya'll about the beach trip. Well things have been going well. He's literally someone I talk to all the time. We went and saw The Lone Ranger with Laura on Saturday and then came back to my place, ate ice cream and drank Moose Drool while we watched another movie: Get the Block. It was great ya'll should watch it. Somehow we yet again managed to stay up until way past my bed time talking about. . you guessed it. . .boys. And girls haha. Sunday morning we went and got breakfast at Fuegos (another victim!!!) and then went out to lake Somerville. We had what was basically a 5 hour mud-fight that was broken only by our desire to sit up on the shore, eat some almonds and peanuts and drink more moose drool. He also helped me pick up trash (people had left 3 trashbags just lying there, open, on the shore. . .as if they're effort to put it into the bag was as much as they could muster). So that was greatly appreciated. We then headed back to my place for a shower and yet another movie: Scott Pilgrim. Oh, and more moose drool of course. Lastly, but certainly not leastly (yes that is definitely a real word), I took him to Mic Check Erotic Poetry Slam night. It was amazing, and hilarous. Oh and I definitely got invited to go to Halo by this girl Jasmine. Who yes, I definitely find attractive. Of course the thought of any kind of actual flirtation that might lead somewhere with real feelings I've decided is terrifying beyond all things and makes me want to not go. But I think I will anyways because fear is silly.
Today I went grocery shopping with Laura and she made fun of me for buying the jar of yogurt that is bigger than my head (understandably) as well as an entire freezer's worth of frozen corn and frozen peas. . .which I am totally addicted to. And yes, I eat them while they are still frozen. :p
Alas, now I think it's time to go watch something. I mean do homework. Yes, definitely that.
This post is now done
I hope you were entertained
It was all bullshit
Its All Bullshit

So I know I haven't posted in a while but. . . I had to tonight because I had to let ya'll know that (thanks to Laura and Vincent) I finally talked to Sweet Eugene's girl an got her name. Sure. . .i think that she thought I was hitting on her guy cousin. . . who yes, was definitely being used as a tool to talk to her because he had been in some of my classes last semester. But hey still. I got her name (Lily), found out she "didnt know what she wanted to do" with her life, but knew she wanted to be outside doing it, and was switching her major to animal science. Anyways, needless to say my next action shall be to invite her to go out to the lake or lick creek park with myself and some other soon-to-be camping buddies. . . Though they will never make up for my old camping buddies. . .I mean, what, pshhh that makes it sound like I miss ya'll. . .as if. . *cough achoo sneeze* . . . .So hopefully she'll be interested and whatnot. I also would like to say that my first attempt at talking to her was to buy a donut (which I didnt eat) and totally chickend out because I kind of got off-handed to another employee. .. so then I had to go back up there again to "ask when they closed" . . .yep. What can I say, I'm smooth. until next time!
Oh also tomorrow i get to go to a chicken farm to collect feathers. I'm kind excited about it.

Merfolk and Alligator Noises
So okay! This weekend, wow.
So Saturday I drove down to Surfside, Texas. It felt so good to be at the beach. The weather was amazing, the waves were amazing. The beach, generally amazing. We played beer pong on our sand-built beer pong table (pictures to come!) and generally had a blast. Also, I came out to Margarita. . .and since I was really not sure about where she stood on the subject, like at all, I was basically freaking out about it. It took me like 20 minutes of listening to her trying to guess things to finally work up the courage. But hey, I did it! And it went just fine haha. She basically said this: "Really. Really?! You got me all worked up and that was it?! You had me scared! Good lord. No this is awesome! Why would I care? Now we can gossip about hot girls!" Haha, life is good. Coming out to Margarita, in turn, now allowed me to come out to her friends (one in particular who has been showing interest in me. . .) Unfortunately I didn't subtlety work it into the conversation until After he bought he dinner (and Yes I did ask for a separate check but the waitress thought it would be cute to ignore me). But anyways, it all turned out okay. Frazier took it well and didn't seem too butthurt, just maybe a little disappointed. But recovered quickly and is still being one cool dude, if not cooler honestly now that he's not concerned about flirting. Needless to say, our adventures together consisted of almost getting swallowed by the ocean's riptide, making sand bunnies followed by our own sand interpretation of the Sistine Chapel's "Creation of Adam", which of course got destroyed by rowdy beach goers, then at dinner we shared a kids menu and drew another version of it, high-five style. Once again, pictures to come! All in all, the day was filled with watermelon, moose drool, swimming and tanning. I'd call it a success. Then the time came to clean up. . .turns out Frazier had the brilliant idea to bring a single key to the beach. A single key!! Who does that!! So of course it got lost. So then I took him back to his house in house to get his spare, and then we drove back to Surfside to get his car. As it was 1 AM by this point, I decided to do the only logical thing and camp out on the beach under the stars. He decided to stay too and so we pitched my tent and stayed up talking until about 5. Bet you didn't think I could stay awake that long huh? Haha, that's okay me neither. When we woke up in the morning we packed up and then got breakfast at IHOP, which was delicious. We then parted ways and I went to my mom's house to get cleaned up before heading over to my cousin's place.

So, enough about dreams, what about life?!
Well, a lot has happened actually. So I'm just going to review briefly because I am in fact on my way to Galveston this morning! Laura and I have been hanging out a lot, having a blast. We went and saw the new Star Trek: Into Darkness movie, which was very nicely done. That was, erm, monday? Yes monday :) and then Thursday we went to play Bingo. . . I went for the gold and got an 18 face. . . an 18 face!!! It wasn't so bad really, but I was drinking Moose Drool and thus laughing continuously throughout the game. Last night Laura's mom came into town and Her, Kyle, Laura and I all went to see Now You See It. It was pretty good. Predictable plot really. . . and thankfully no hands Actually went through the sink disposal. . . Going back to Thursday, I started teaching Yang how to swim breast stroke. It is just as hilarious as you are probably imagining it to be, if you know Yang. Luckily she is actually quite good natured about her own hilariousness so we laughed a lot and I think shes actually improving. Since I'm leaving for Oklahoma next week, I hired Laura's dog walker to come babysit my birds. I was supposed to meet her yesterday, and thus stayed up all night Thursday trying to clean my apartment. . . the bird cage and my Kitchen are now clean XD. However, our Friday meeting got canceled because it turns out i'll only be gone one whole day, next Thursday, and so we're meeting next Tuesday instead. Back to the beach: I'm going to the Surf Side today to see Margarita and friends! . . .and I'm going to actually talk to her this time about being out. I'm scared, not going to pretend otherwise. Hopefully it won't be as big of a deal as I'm making it. . . .I'm also getting to go see my cousin's new house! That's not today though, that's Sunday. . . .hmmm what else. Not too much I suppose, been working a lot and swimming/ running everyday so far! Yay for being back on track! Disney girl gets back into town soon and we're going to go on one of those drive through Safari's :D yah know, hopefully anyways haha. Anyways, I'll work on posting more often so that way I'm not forgetting stuffs!

Stephanie, why don't you want ice cream?
So this morning I remember part of my dream. Mainly me running around with one girl doing various things, but that gir kept changing. I don't remember all the people she was, but I do remember at some point she was Rebecca from my old swim team. We were at this giant event, there were concerts everywhere and little rooms to watch movies too. We ran around. Eventually for some reason I was topless and had replaced clothing for mardigras beads that still covered all of the important parts but were just beads nonetheless. I think I said something about feeling like a mermaid. We found a strange movie and stopped to watch it. The movie room was black and white themed with all the furniture looking very ornate and antique, it was pretty cool actually. The movie had a talking/mobile bright yellow rose which opened up its petals so that way its friends, a butterfly? and something else could stick something inside it. . I dont remember what it was but it was something weird like a lizard or a dragonfly or something. They were also in a field where the grrass was gigantic as they all perched somehow or another near the top of it all. It was all extremely brightly colored. The movie seemed like it had just started but suddenly it ended and we because we didn't have a special pass (or something) we had to leave. Thankfully at this point I was feeling really awkward about my shirtlessness and thus decided to re-clothe myself properly. As we left, somehow Rebecca turned into Stephanie (Hey Steph!) and we left the chaos and ended up walking along a busy strip center, it was nighttime. A Marble Slab was ahead, and Steph said something about not wanting icecream.. . I of course in return said something about wanting ice cream. So Stephanie decided that if we were getting desert, she wanted cake (from this old cake shop I used to go to and that closed down a couple years back, so I was considerably surprised to hear there was one in the strip center). So we turned around and went towards the cake shop. Upon arriving we did not get cake, however, but instead two ginormous bottles of tea, and one can that was even bigger. . .like our heads could fit in it three times. .. .And Yep, that was my dream.

Today was awesome, woke up at 6 am, because I just did, and cleaned my room. Yes, that actually happened for all of you doubters out there. Then I drove to Houston to spend time with my mom & bro and domestic partner. I got to work out with my mom which is always fun, but I was already sore from doing 120+ squats at work on Thursday so I suspect I won't even be able to walk tomorrow. Then my mom and bro went to Whole Foods for lunch with me! That's a big deal because they usually hate it. No I don't know why. It's delicious and wonderful. At the same time. . .that place is cursed when they come. Today a girl threw up all over the entrance which was about 20 ft away from us while we were eating haha. . . But then I went to get a new phone!!!!! well, okay by new I really mean transferring my number to my brothers old phone while he got a new phone. Unfortunately that didn't work out so well for some reason so I've been without a phone all day. But after this supposed switching of phones, Masha and I spent all day downtown exploring the art museums and listening to The National's new album (which is amazing just in case anyone wants to know). It was great. We talked a lot, cried a little, and laughed more. I also ran into April, which was crazy because I haven't seen her in, well a really long time. Further, she was with Robin. . and not Ray. . .which meant we actually talked about stuff. . . Mostly about how I have failed wholly as a human being. Yes, we cried a lot. April, I'm sorry. On a happy note though, Masha and I then went to the Menil and saw new surrealism stuff. Epic. We did, however, miss the Rothko Chapel by about 10 min. Sad day. All is well though, that shall be saved for another time. We then ended the day by eating way too much Mediterranean food at FADIs. And when I say too much. . .I mean my stomach is still hurting and its been 5 hours. Of course that didn't stop me from eating the homemade cookie dough in the fridge when I got home... but hey it was worth it. May tomorrow bring rain and other important things into the world...like more homemade cookie dough. In the meantime, sleep.
Hello world!
So essentially I'm starting this blog in order to keep my favorite people up-to-date on my life, should they wish to stalk me. Also because I apparently suck at keeping a diary and well, I think I may want to keep track of my life on some level. . . especially considering I can't even recall what I did last week. Oh no wait. . .yes I do. . hmm. Well we'll just leave that out.
So here's to you, all my far-away friends! I miss you all.
